Eliminating nuclear weapons is not complicated.

COLD WAR MINDSET

We are stuck with nuclear weapons not because they are great weapons or some sort of "ultimate guarantee," but because experts and government officials are trapped in a Cold War mindset. This tiny minority rules our fate, insisting on nuclear weapons.

They refuse to face the reality that not only are nuclear weapons dangerous and virtually useless militarily, but nuclear deterrence is flawed and will one day fail catastrophically.

However, the time for arguing with nuclear believers is over. The nuclear mindset has hardened into intractable dogma. The time has come for large-scale political action.

Because the case against nuclear weapons is clear and unequivocal, if we make this case plainly and forcefully we can build a large, powerful movement that will overrule this small clique and insist on the elimination of nuclear weapons.
